The design brief for this project presented an array of challenges for us, from material selection to structural stability. Tables for Business's aim was to produce a casual worktable with integral power and data capability that could be easily relocated around the office space. The material selected was a rustic reclaimed flooring clad around an internal framework capable of concealing the power cables. The end result was a three metre long, multifunctional, moveable workbench, ticking all the boxes of the clients brief.
The Tables For Business factory is capable of producing everything from rustic reclaimed scaffold board tables to high-end boardroom tables, this 6000mm long tables certainly demonstrates the latter. Stained crown cut maple veneer was the finish of choice with a 65mm solid chamfered edge all round. The elegant 6mm brass inlay makes this table stand out as something special. Matching veneered hinged access flaps and a central veneer grommet incorporates all the power and data requirements to make this the ideal boardroom table.
When Tables For Business were presented with opportunity to produce a pair of oak tables measuring 4500mm x 1500mm each we leapt at the chance. With the client unsure of whether solid oak or oak veneer was the look they were after, we produced a set of samples of each for approval. It was clear from our meeting to run through the initial design proposal and samples that the solid oak option was the desired finish. The option to go for the thicker 40mm top made these tables the statement piece of the office. The built in power and data and inset central legs makes these tables ideal for casual meetings, quiet working and formal presentations.
